How to Play AnimeBattle
AnimeBattle is easy to pick up but has deep strategy. Here's everything you need to know to get started.
Step 1: Get Your Cards
🎁 Free Card Every Hour
Every 60 minutes you can draw a free card. The rarity is randomly rolled – you might get a Common or strike gold with a Legendary. No account needed to start drawing!
📦 Card Packs
Spend coins in the shop to buy packs from specific anime series. Each pack contains 5 cards with weighted rarity chances. Want only Dragon Ball cards? Buy a Dragon Ball pack.
✨ Rarity Tiers
Cards come in 5 rarities, each with different drop rates:
Common 50% Uncommon 28% Rare 14% Epic 6% Legendary 2%
Some cards also have Alt Art variants – rare alternative artwork with a 15% chance when a character has Alt Arts available.
Step 2: Enter a Battle
⚔️ Ranked 1v1
Queue for a Ranked match and get paired with an opponent near your skill level. Win to gain Elo and climb the ranks. Lose and your Elo drops. After 3 placement games, you get your starting rank.
🎮 Unranked
Same rules as Ranked, but without affecting your Elo. Perfect for practicing new strategies.
👥 FFA Lobby
Create a private lobby, share the 5-digit code with friends, and draft against 2-8 players. You can choose which anime series to include and customize the number of passes.
Step 3: The Draft
A random pool of character cards is shown. You and your opponent take turns picking one card at a time. After picking, you place the card on one of 10 battle positions:
- Leader – Charisma and command
- Vice Captain – Second-in-command reliability
- Support – Team utility (×2 slots)
- Strength – Raw attack power
- Speed – Combat and reaction speed
- Tank – Durability and endurance
- IQ – Intelligence and strategy
- Healer – Healing and support abilities
- Techniques – Special moves and versatility
You can also pass if you don't want the current card (limited passes available).
Step 4: The Battle
After the draft, each position is revealed one by one. The player whose card has a higher stat value for that position wins the point. The player with the most won positions wins the entire match!
In Ranked mode, your Elo is updated based on the result. The system uses a fair Elo formula where beating a stronger opponent gives more points.
Step 5: Earn & Progress
🏅 Daily & Weekly Missions
Complete missions like "Win 3 Unranked Matches" or "Draw 100 Cards" to earn bonus coins. Three daily missions reset every midnight, and one weekly mission resets every Monday.
📈 Ranked Ladder
The ranking system has 6 tiers: Z → F → D → C → B → A. Everyone starts at 1000 Elo (Rank C area). Climbing requires consistent wins against worthy opponents.
